Since taking responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the company, Gavin has strengthened operational consistency, improved delivery performance, and built a resilient business that operates reliably across all market conditions.

    With extensive experience in commercial construction and project management, he has successfully overseen the delivery of a wide range of commercial and civil projects.

    Gavin is a qualified Carpenter and holds a Diploma in Architectural Technology, giving him a strong practical and technical foundation that underpins decisive leadership, high standards of workmanship, and consistently successful project outcomes across the business.

    Amy Wallace is the Chief Financial Officer of Wallace Building Contractors and is responsible for the day-to-day financial and administrative management of the business. Having successfully overseen the office and operational support functions for many years, Amy plays a key role in ensuring the company runs efficiently, compliantly, and sustainably.

    With a background in commercial insurance underwriting, she brings a strong understanding of risk management, financial controls, and regulatory compliance, all of which are critical in today's construction environment.

    Amy's experience and professional approach provide essential support to both management and site teams across the business.

  • Rani Grace — Head Quantity Surveyor

    Rani Grace

    Rani Grace is the Head Quantity Surveyor at Wallace Building Contractors and plays a key role in the commercial management of projects across the business. He holds a National Diploma in Construction (Level 6) in Quantity Surveying and brings a well-rounded understanding of both cost control and construction delivery.

    Prior to joining Wallace Building Contractors, Rani worked with Forman Building Systems as a Sales Coordinator, giving him valuable exposure to commercial processes and client engagement.

    He also has a hands-on background in residential construction as a qualified carpenter, providing him with strong practical insight that supports accurate pricing, effective budgeting, and informed decision-making throughout the lifecycle of each project.

    He provides strong leadership across multiple site teams and maintains overall responsibility for programme delivery, commercial performance, quality, and health and safety outcomes. Working closely with senior management, Ben plays an important role in upholding the company's standards and reputation while ensuring client expectations are consistently met or exceeded.

    Known for his hands-on management style, Ben drives strong productivity and performance across the projects he manages, contributing significantly to the company's ongoing success.

    Matt Prescott

    Matt Prescott is the Commercial Manager at Wallace Building Contractors and plays a key role in supporting the strategic and day-to-day operations of the business. Working closely with the Company Director, Matt provides commercial oversight and operational support across projects, while also assisting Site Managers to ensure works are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with programme and budget expectations.

    Matt brings many years of experience across both the civil and construction sectors, including six years in project management roles in Australia. He holds a Diploma in Architectural Technology and has a strong working knowledge of health and safety systems, project planning, and construction documentation.

    Proficient in MS Project and AutoCAD, Matt contributes practical, well-informed input that supports successful project outcomes across the company's portfolio.

  • Ken Wallace — Senior Advisor

    Ken Wallace represents the second generation of the Wallace family to lead Wallace Building Contractors. Building on the foundation established by his father, who founded the company in 1959, Ken played a pivotal role in shaping the business into what it is today.

    In the early 1990s, he led the strategic shift from carpentry into specialising in concrete construction, a move that defined the company's future direction.

    With decades of hands-on industry experience, Ken continues to provide valuable guidance and practical insight as a Senior Advisor. He remains closely connected to site teams and brings a deep understanding of construction challenges, allowing him to contribute meaningfully through experience, mentorship, and problem-solving.

  • Mark Bloomfield — Logistics Manager

    Mark Bloomfield

    25 years with Wallace

    Mark Bloomfield is the Logistics Manager at Wallace Building Contractors and brings over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Having been with the company since 2001, Mark plays a critical role in supporting project delivery across all sites.

    Based at the company workshop, he leads a dedicated team responsible for the manufacture of formwork and construction components required on site. Mark oversees the availability, maintenance, and repair of plant and equipment, ensuring site teams have the resources they need to operate efficiently and without delay.

    A qualified carpenter with additional qualifications in electrical certification and health and safety, Mark's technical knowledge, leadership, and attention to detail make him a key contributor to the smooth running and reliability of the company's operations.

Having recently joined the company, Amber is taking on responsibility for managing office functions, systems, and workflows that support both management and site teams.

    She brings transferable experience from the real estate industry, along with a strong understanding of the demands and disciplines required to keep a family-owned business operating smoothly.

    Amber's structured, proactive approach supports efficiency, consistency, and effective communication across the company.

  • Site Manager

    Calum Bron

    Calum Bron is a Site Manager at Wallace Building Contractors and has been with the company since 2016, progressing steadily through the business into a leadership role.

    He holds a National Certificate in Concrete Construction (Level 4), which he completed in 2020, and was Highly Commended in the 2019 Concrete Apprentice of the Year Awards, recognising his early commitment and capability within the industry.

    Calum now leads his own site teams on several of the company's larger projects and is known for his strong work ethic, developing leadership skills, and high standards of workmanship. His continued progression reflects both his dedication and the company's commitment to developing talent from within.

    Alistair McIntyre

    Alistair McIntyre is a Senior Site Foreman at Wallace Building Contractors and brings over 35 years of experience across commercial and civil construction projects in both New Zealand and Australia. Having been with the company since 2001, Alistair has played a key role in the successful delivery of a number of complex and high-profile projects.

    His experience includes leading the concrete works at One Market Lane and acting as Foreman on the Wellington Airport Carpark project. Most recently, Alistair successfully oversaw the completed seismic upgrade of the Wellington Town Hall.

    Known for his depth of technical knowledge, strong leadership on site, and ability to manage challenging projects, Alistair is a highly respected and integral member of the Wallace Building Contractors team.

    Sean Rigby is a Site Foreman at Wallace Building Contractors and brings many years of experience in commercial construction. He joined the company in 2017 as a Leading Hand Carpenter and has progressed through the business through his strong focus on quality, efficiency, and concrete construction delivery.

    Sean now leads his own site teams and is responsible for managing projects across the Wellington region.

    Known for his practical leadership style and commitment to high standards of workmanship, Sean plays an important role in the successful delivery of projects and the ongoing performance of site operations.

  • ComFlor Installation Manager

    Scott Gordon

    Scott Gordon leads the ComFlor division of Wallace Building Contractors through Wellington Studwelders Ltd and is responsible for the delivery of specialist ComFlor installation services across the region.

    Managing a skilled team of dedicated installation staff, Scott works on projects for Wallace Building Contractors as well as multiple main contractors throughout Wellington. Under his leadership, the team has successfully installed more than 200,000m² of ComFlor on some of Wellington's largest and most significant construction projects.

    Scott's technical expertise, coordination skills, and ability to deliver complex installations efficiently make him a key contributor to the company's broader project delivery capability.

  • Site Foreman / QA Manager

    Connor Leigh

    Connor joined Wallace Building Contractors in 2022 after previously working on domestic concrete slabs. Since joining the team, he has quickly proven himself to be a capable and emerging leader within the business.

    Through his strong work ethic, technical ability, and positive leadership style, Connor has progressed into a Site Foreman / QA Manager role where he supports site management and ensures projects are delivered to Wallace Building Contractors’ high standards.

    Connor has completed both his BCITO apprenticeships in Concrete Construction, achieving the New Zealand Certificate in Concrete Construction (Commercial and Civil Infrastructure) Level 4 and the New Zealand Certificate in Construction Trades Supervision (Commercial Construction) Level 5, further strengthening his ability to lead teams and manage site delivery effectively.

    When they're not greeting clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, they're helping create a calm and positive atmosphere around the office. Their ability to lift spirits, encourage a quick break from the desk, and keep the team smiling makes them valued members of the Wallace Building crew.
