Wallace Building Contractors delivered the concrete construction works for this six-level apartment development on one of Wellington's most prominent waterfront sites.
The high-quality residential development incorporated two basement levels of car parking and was constructed on a particularly challenging site bounded by existing neighbouring buildings. Our scope included the manufacture and installation of tall precast concrete wall panels, basement construction, and associated structural concrete works. To facilitate excavation close to site boundaries, Wallace utilised staged construction methodologies and no-fines concrete backfill systems, allowing waterproof tanking to be installed under controlled conditions while maintaining stability around adjacent structures.
The complexity of the ground conditions and basement construction required the project to be delivered in multiple stages, with separate construction zones ultimately integrated as the building progressed toward completion.
