Brandon Street

The Brief

Wallace Building Contractors delivered the concrete, formwork, and structural concrete package for the seismic strengthening and refurbishment of 10 Brandon Street, a prominent 16-storey commercial office tower in the heart of Wellington's CBD.

Originally affected by the 2016 Kaikōura earthquake, the building underwent a significant transformation to create a modern, resilient workplace offering approximately 12,000m² of office accommodation and ground-floor retail space. Wallace worked alongside Keyway Construction to complete complex structural strengthening works designed to improve the building's seismic performance and extend its service life.

Our scope included reinforced concrete construction, specialist formwork, structural strengthening works, and associated concrete elements required throughout the refurbishment programme. The project was undertaken within an existing high-rise structure and required careful planning, sequencing, and coordination to successfully integrate new structural components into the building.
