The Brief
Wallace Building Contractors delivered the concrete construction works for Bupa Crofton Downs, a flagship retirement village development providing premium retirement living and aged care facilities for the Wellington region.
The development comprises 82 independent living apartments, a 49-bed care home, an underground basement car park, swimming pool, and a range of communal facilities designed to support residents' wellbeing and lifestyle. Our scope included precast concrete panel installation, in-situ concrete walls and columns, reinforced concrete foundations, and composite flooring systems, including the construction of the basement car park.
The project required careful coordination across multiple building components and construction methodologies to deliver a high-quality facility capable of meeting the long-term needs of residents and care providers. The combination of residential, healthcare, and recreational facilities created a complex development that demanded a high level of planning, quality control, and workmanship.
