The Brief
Wallace Building Contractors delivered the concrete works and ComFlor flooring installation for Elevate Apartments, a landmark 17-storey residential tower and one of Wellington's most technologically advanced apartment developments.
At the time of construction, Elevate was the tallest residential apartment building in Wellington and incorporated innovative seismic engineering technology designed to minimise disruption following major earthquake events. A key feature of the structure was the use of precision-engineered steel spring systems imported from Germany and installed at the base of the building's structural wall frames. Wallace completed the critical concrete works associated with these systems, including cast-in steel connecting beams requiring an exceptional installation tolerance of ±0.5mm.
The project incorporated a combination of Interspan flooring and more than 8,000m² of ComFlor 80 flooring systems, supplied and installed by our Wellington Studwelders division. The scale and complexity of the development required careful coordination and technical
