The Brief
Wallace Building Contractors delivered the concrete works and ComFlor flooring installation for One Market Lane, a landmark mixed-use development occupying a prominent waterfront site in the heart of Wellington.
Selected for our extensive high-rise construction experience, Wallace was engaged to deliver the concrete structure for this innovative low-damage seismic design developed in response to lessons learned from the Christchurch earthquakes. The six-level podium structure was constructed entirely in reinforced concrete and incorporated more than 3,500m³ of concrete, advanced seismic detailing, multiple hinge-joint beam and column connections, and a flexible 450mm thick concrete core wall extending through the building.
The upper six levels comprise high-quality residential apartments supported by a structural steel frame. Wallace, through our Wellington Studwelders division, supplied and installed more than 7,000m² of ComFlor 80 flooring together with through-deck stud welding to complete the composite floor system.
This project highlights Wallace Building Contractors' expertise in high-rise concrete construction, advanced seismic design, and ComFlor flooring systems.
