The Brief
Wallace Building Contractors delivered the concrete works and ComFlor flooring installation for the Queensgate Car Park and Cinema Complex, a major redevelopment project replacing the previous structure that was damaged during the Kaikōura earthquake.
The 20,000m² development was designed to achieve the highest seismic performance standards, ensuring long-term resilience and continuity of service. Our scope included the construction of a substantial reinforced concrete raft foundation, heavily reinforced in-situ concrete walls, and the installation of more than 13,000m² of ComFlor suspended floor slabs throughout the structure.
The scale and complexity of the project required extensive planning, coordination, and technical expertise to deliver a robust and resilient structure capable of serving the region for decades to come.
