The Brief
Wallace Building Contractors delivered the concrete construction works for the Summerset Waikanae Village development, a major retirement village project on the Kapiti Coast. Our scope included extensive civil and structural concrete works across the site, beginning with approximately 200 metres of reinforced concrete retaining walls used to create building platforms for the planned 300-unit village. We subsequently delivered the concrete structure for the 5,000m² Regional Main Building, including foundations, retaining walls, floor slabs, structural elements, and an in-situ concrete swimming pool and spa facility. The project was delivered across multiple construction zones simultaneously, requiring significant resource coordination, staged construction planning, and careful programme management. The scale of the development demanded a large on-site workforce and the ability to manage multiple work fronts.
