The Brief
Wallace Building Contractors delivered the structural concrete package for the new Te Ara Whetū – Waikanae Community Hub, a landmark community facility in the heart of Waikanae.
Our scope included reinforced concrete foundations, new upper ComFlor slabs, architecturally exposed concrete walls, service trench infills, and a wide range of structural upgrades throughout the project. Working closely with Naylor Love and the wider project team, we maintained programme while delivering high-quality concrete construction to meet the project's evolving requirements. The project also involved specialist reinforcement installation, drill-and-epoxy work, and complex structural detailing to support the building's architectural design.
Te Ara Whetū is an important new public facility for the Kāpiti Coast, bringing together library, community, cultural and civic spaces into one modern, purpose-built hub.
